Keith Chandler
Following an English Grammar School education Keith worked initially in the U.K. Automotive industry, gaining an engineering apprenticeship and a degree in mechanical engineering. He then worked in the UK's largest motor distributor group and eventually was appointed its youngest Regional Director responsible for 15 U.K. dealerships and its French subsidiaries.
A subsequent five-year ex-patriot stint in South East Asia as Chief Executive of two multi-national trading groups led to his return to the UK in 1982 when he launched his own London-based auto dealerships growing to 7 locations and $50 million sales.
Keith's transition to the hair and beauty business came through education. After working with the Dale Carnegie Organization as a management seminar instructor in the 1980's his long-time friend, Leslie Spears, invited him to present his management ideas to the pioneer Three·Six·Five members in 1984. This opportunity started what became a love of the hair and beauty business that has endured for 25 years.
Joining the Salon Success Group in 1991, Keith developed worldwide salon education programs in the U.K., Europe, U.S.A and Australia. He now splits his time between the U.S.A, U.K, Canada and Australia coaching people within the hair and beauty industry, running his Tampa-based distribution company Joy USA and the Box Office Hair salon group in partnership with Debbie Digby.
Keith believes that leaders today have an obligation to pass on to others their given talents and skills. He has always surrounded himself with outstanding key people and has shared his management philosophies in various media publications including Salon Champion and Evolve magazines.
His approach to life is simple. "Treat each day as the beginning of the next, and best, 10 years of your life." This mantra has certainly held true during his 25-year love affair with the hairdressing industry!
